RESPECT DUE

Why he's the best: Not only cause of the veteran status, but if you critically study what he's done... he continues to elevate Hip-Hop and paint a visual picture that perfectly complements the music. Innovative, and consistently re-inventing his product. Who else can make you see what you hear the way he does?

Belly. (check the opening scene we posted in November)
Though acting slacked a little, the cinematography is unbelievable. Mind you... the movie came out in 98', and was wayyyy before its time. Look at the lighting, the camera angles, how the soundtrack rides what we see. Crazy.

Can't Knock the Hustle and If I Ruled the World are some of our favorites-- portrayed classically. Before I knew what New York was about (I, Gogy, am from Massachusetts), If I Ruled the World was my reference bible... imagining nas' suede wallys standing on a limo's roof, Times Square lights shining-- how he contrasted the glamour and glitz with the grime and hustle of the streets. Hype's a living legend. Respect.
