PROTEST

Poo and I showed up to our school's campus to protest the NYU Young Replubicans' ignorance. The Republican group staged a game titled, "Find the Illegal Immigrant"-- where originally, they were going to have a person "dressed like an immigrant," toting a sign that said "immigrant" being chased by an INS officer. But instead, for their safety, they wisely chose to alter the game and have the "illegal immingrant" dress as a "non-immigrant," and have him blend in with the crowd. Whoever wanted to try and find him would sign up if they wanted to play. Only one kid signed up-- and he was bribed by a $50 Duane Reade gift certificate. The mockery and degradation these kids were planning to enact wasn't the only thing we and many other protesters were enraged about, but the kids who make up the group--Affluent, anglo-saxons, who im sure are upper-middle class-- have no FUCKING idea what it is to struggle. Their rich asses were drooling caviar all over their silver spoons since they were babies-- so why give a fuck about an immigrant? Wrong. Illegal immigrants sustain this economy-- they claim that the immigrants take all the jobs-- the jobs that no other American inhabitant will take. I have yet to see any white person work significantly below minimum wage and try to sustain a family. And if illegal immigration is so wrong, why does the government let it slde? What I mean is that in January 2006 an underground tunnel that leads from Mexico to the US was discovered (check article here). This tunnel is one of dozens that the government just recently discovered. Bullshit. The tunnels have been there for years and they are operating as we speak-- and I'm 100% certain the government know's about it. Cuz who's working the shit-paying jobs? Who's willing to work them? Thats right. And furthermore, the media taints the image of immigrants by claiming the tunnel was used mainly for drug smuggling. Call me an extremist but the government's smart right? Why not kill two birds with one stone-- the governement can sustain their economy with illegal immigrants, treat them like shit, taint their image, and then carry the dope through the same tunnels to further destroy the image of immigrants and keep them hooked. Where does the dope go? To the hood. "Lets keep em high and dependent, just like crack did in the 80s and maybe we help them kill themselves." Tons of drugs go to the hood, addiction occurs, families are destroyed, violence is a guaranteed result... It makes sense. I can go on for days. Some reports say that the NYU Young Republicans seemed undaunted, well... so are we, and let their ignorance remain. You'll get yours.
